logo exploration
To complement the geometric shape of a record, which is the chosen iconography for the logo, I explored the use of Futura due to its geometric nature.
I initially thought that the likeness between iconography and font would be the route to proceed with.
Nonetheless, I was more drawn to IBM Plex Sans as my main typeface because it embodied the nostalgic spirit I wanted to pursue in this publication. I believe music to be inaherently nostalgic, thus explainng my choice of typeface.
Additionally, IBM Plex Sans has a vast font family, which allows me more variation in use.
My final decision was between the use of all caps or lower case. Lowercase characters emphasize curved shapes, and so I went forward with that because it complemented the round label of the record, resulting in more balance.
